Privacy policy

Effective 25 July 2026 · Applies to the Catadoc app and catadoc.app

The short version: your documents stay on your phone, encrypted. Catadoc has no accounts, no analytics, and no cloud. The app makes exactly one kind of network request: the feedback you write and choose to send us.

Your documents

Everything you scan or import — images, recognized text, and the facts Catadoc extracts — is stored only on your device, in an encrypted database keyed from your phone's secure keychain. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it all.

What the app sends, and when

Nothing, unless you explicitly send feedback. If you do, we receive:

Feedback never includes your documents, their text, titles, extracted facts, or search history — the submission simply has no fields for them. Feedback reaches us as email, is used only to improve Catadoc and reply to you, and is never shared or sold.

No accounts, no tracking

There is nothing to sign up for. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that phone home.

This website

catadoc.app is a static page served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site, as any host does.

Email

If you write to hello@catadoc.app or send in-app feedback, we keep the correspondence like any mailbox does, for as long as it is useful for supporting you and improving the product.

Your rights

Your documents are already fully in your hands — we couldn't access them if we wanted to. For anything you've sent us (feedback or email), you can ask what we hold and ask us to delete it: hello@catadoc.app. If you are in the EU/EEA, these requests are your GDPR rights and we honor them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date. During the beta, material changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
